Anthony Miccio, pop culture records custodian extraordinaire, reminded me of the “Voices That Care” music video made for Gulf War soldiers back in 1991, and holy crapz, is it ah-may-zing. I’m not even sure where to begin: Bobby Brown’s leather top hat, Will Smith rapping, Nelson just bein’ Nelson, Meryl Streep’s flowbie cut… I mean what’s better than Joanna Kerns, Jon Lovitz, Don King and Fred Savage all swaying side by side, rocking out and feeling great about themselves? [Answer: nothing, of course.]
Oddly enough all the words came right back to me, so this must have been played a lot on Kiss 108 back in the day.
Holy shiiiiiit! This video is amazing!!!!!!
holy shit indeed. This is every pop culture memory from middle school wrapped up into one video.Other notable appearances in this video: the Kenny G solo, Brian “The Boz” Bosworth (that guy used to be the shit!), Downtown Julie Brown, Mike Tyson and Wayne Gretzky.
The words came back to me as well which was strange. And who the hell was that bald guy at the end?
Pee-wee Herman Gets An iPad!
Today I literally “lived the dream.” I wrote and directed this video, which stars Pee-wee Herman and the Playhouse Gang! If I could go back in time and tell my ten year old self that this was going to happen…well, I would probably create some sort of paradox. But it would be so worth it!
Please help make this video popular by digging it.
My old friend Eric has done a lot of cool things, but writing and directing a video with Pee Wee Herman may be the coolest thing so far.
LOST: Flight 815 Crash in Real Time
This is great and is getting me pumped for the start of the season. Where I will no doubt become one of THESE types of LOST FANS.
This. Is. Awesome!
Very cool video. I wish ABC would show this before the new season starts.
